Abu Dhabi Maritime was established in May 2020, via an agreement between AD Ports Group and the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), to be the primary custodian of all of Abu Dhabi waters and to deliver on Plan Maritime (Abu Dhabi Coastal and Marine Framework Plan), for the development of integrated coastal zone management and to continue the Emirate’s journey of growth as a major global maritime hub. Abu Dhabi Maritime has been assigned the regulatory and strategic oversight to govern and manage the Emirate's waterways and maritime sector, providing a world-leading maritime infrastructure for the people and businesses of Abu Dhabi.

SAFEEN Group

One-stop destination for maritime services regionally and internationally.

SAFEEN Group’s portfolio comprises of three key areas covering Marine Services, Shipping &Transshipment, Offshore and Subsea Solutions.

SAFEEN Marine Services provides a comprehensive suite of cost-efficient word-class marine services to customers regionally and globally. This includes Port, Navigation and Fleet Maintenance Services alongside ancillary quayside services to calling vessels across all ports. This covers VTS, pilotage, towage, ferry management, oil spill response, and mooring. 

SAFEEN Offshore & Subsea is a rapidly expanding area within the Group, delivering bespoke solutions to customers across the offshore oil, gas and construction industries and the renewable energy sector.

Incorporated under this division OFCO, SAFEEN Offshore, SAFEEN Survey and Subsea and Divetech provide a wealth of experience in this field including offshore support vessels and logistics, Inspection Repair & Maintenance (IRM), subsea solutions, survey and commercial diving activities to meet customer needs.

SAFEEN Shipping & Transshipment is growing its merchant shipping portfolio substantially in response to growing regional and global trade. SAFEEN Group now operates the third largest independent feeder company globally by volumes carried with a total container capacity of 100,000 TEU.  This is due to the combined strengths of SAFEEN Feeders, Global Feeder Shipping and Transmar.

Cargo operations including dry bulk, crude and chemical tankers is also flourishing alongside a healthy transshipment business. 

SAFEEN Group also has a vast fleet catering to all business lines across the portfolio.

SAFEEN and Allianz Marine & Logistics (AMLS) came together to form Offshore Support and Logistics Services Company (OFCO), a new international provider of integrated maritime logistics solutions and subsea services. It specialises in providing offshore services to the oil, gas, and construction industries in the UAE through a world-class fleet. Its comprehensive portfolio of services covers: marine vessels, integrated offshore support and logistics, subsea services, and emergency response.

Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA)

Developing the next generation of industry leaders.

AD Ports Group established Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy (ADMA) in 2018 to advance the maritime industry in UAE and the region through world-class education and training. ADMA plays a crucial role in providing maritime training for undergraduates and working professionals, supporting Abu Dhabi Maritime’s plan to elevate Abu Dhabi into a global maritime hub. The Academy provides courses for the next generation of maritime industry leaders in the UAE and the region.
